SWBTEC's Definition of Quality Standards for Galvanised Coatings on Slewing Bearings

Quality is the lifeblood of our slewing rings and our solemn commitment to our customers. To ensure every slewing bearing leaving our factory possesses exceptional long-term rust prevention capabilities, our company enforces internal specifications exceeding industry-standard requirements for all galvanised slewing rings.

We strictly adhere to the technical guidance of the international standard ISO 19598:2016 (Electroplating zinc and zinc alloy coatings on steel). This standard explicitly stipulates the minimum coating thickness and the requisite minimum corrosion resistance performance. Tailored to the operating conditions of slewing bearings, we set a localised zinc coating thickness standard of >9μm, maintained within the optimal range of 9-30μm. This thickness requirement provides a robust foundation for cathodic protection of the base metal.

Crucially, we recognise that coating thickness alone is insufficient for complex, demanding environments. Consequently, we employ an advanced composite post-treatment process within the industry. This process significantly enhances coating density and stability, with efficacy validated through neutral, rigorous neutral salt spray (NSS) testing. In accordance with ISO 9227 standards, we impose salt spray test duration requirements far exceeding conventional benchmarks for coatings produced via this process. This ensures specimens exhibit no surface white rust or substrate red rust throughout the specified, substantially extended test cycle. We routinely conduct these tests ourselves, allowing data to serve as the most reliable testament to quality.
