The size of slewing ring is usually large, with a diameter usually ranging from 0.4 to 10 meters, and some can reach 40 meters.
Slewing ring generally needs to bear several loads, not only axial force and radial force, but also large overturning moment. Therefore, the arrangement of ordinary rolling bearings is often used in the slewing ring.
The operating speed of the slewing ring is very low, usually below 10 revolutions per minute. In addition, in most cases, the slewing ring does not rotate continuously, but only rotates back and forth within a fixed angle, which is equivalent to the so-called "oscillating bearing".
In terms of manufacturing process, material, and heat treatment, slewing ring is very different from rolling bearing.
Usually, the slewing ring is equipped with a rotating drive gear and a sealing device for dust prevention.
The size of the slewing ring is very large. Unlike ordinary bearings, it is not fitted on the main shaft and installed in the bearing box, but is fastened to the upper and lower supports by bolts.
